2008년1월6일/주일저녁8부/자족하는 마음은 여유를 가져다준다.

누구든지 다른 교훈을 하며 바른 말 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 말씀과 경건에 관한 교훈을 따르지 아니하면, 그는 교만하여 아무 것도 알지 못하고 변론과 언쟁을 좋아하는 자니, 이로써 투기와 분쟁과 비방과 악한 생각이 나며, 마음이 부패하여지고 진리를 잃어 버려, 경건을 이익의 방도로 생각하는 자들의 다툼이 일어나느니라. 그러나 자족하는 마음이 있으면 경건은 큰 이익이 되느니라. - 디모데전서 6장 3-6

내가 두 가지 일을 주께 구하였사오니 내가 죽기 전에 내게 거절하지 마시옵소서.  곧 헛된 것과 거짓말을 내게서 멀리 하옵시며, 나를 가난하게도 마옵시고 부하게도 마옵시고 오직 필요한 양식으로 나를 먹이시옵소서. - 잠언 30장 7-8

We are always seeking for more and more physical, financial, and intellectual power, and spend most of time and resource for that.

As a Christian, it’s not right because we are called as stewards and our power and resources come from God. We have to put more effort to use wisely the gifts we’ve received than to have more for our sake.

Don’t be a wicked, lazy, and worthless servant. Be wise.

• Take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. - Matthew 11:29
• But when they deliever you up, do not become anxious about how or what you will speak; for it shall be given you in that hour what you are to speak. - Matthew 10:19
• You have no need for anyone to teach you … His anointing teaches you. - 1 John 2:27
• If you yourself do not know, … go forth on the trail of the flock, and pasture your young goats by the tents of the shepherds - Song of Solomon 1:8
• But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. - James 1:5
• The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Proverbs 1:7
• Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. - Proverb 3:5-6
